Dry Weather Alert – Help Local Wildlife

March and April have been one of the driest in decades, making it harder for badgers, and particularly cubs, to find food and water as they start to explore beyond the sett.

While young cubs can occasionally wander outside the sett, it is unusual to see them out in daylight, and often a sign that they may be struggling.

At this early stage of independence, cubs are only just emerging from the sett and will soon be foraging for themselves. They lack the fat reserves needed to cope with these challenging conditions, and the dry weather makes it harder for them and their mother to find natural food sources like worms.

In past dry spells, this has sadly led to an increase in rescues of dehydrated and starving cubs.

💧Please put out fresh water for wildlife. 💦

Your support could prevent unnecessary suffering and save lives.
