The first Round of badger vaccination season has been completed. It was a busy one, with 5 different landowners and a compliance audit visit from Natural England. We welcomed a few new volunteers, who have already become fantastic assets to the team, and it was great to meet up with existing volunteers at the beginning of the year.
We were working on three areas of land where this was the last year we would be vaccinating. It’s always quite sad when we finish a Round on the land we have spent time on for the two weeks, but it’s especially sad to know we aren’t going back.
During the 4 years of the vaccination project on each area, we build up special relationships with the landowners and become very familiar with the fields and woodlands. However, we have new land to explore for 2024 and new landowners to work with.
To continue with the work, we rely on public support, and we are extremely grateful for all donations.
Thank you.
Debbie
